Enzymes- essential proteins that are part of everyday life. They speed up chemical reactions, such as digestion of food in our stomachs. In this experiment, attendees will learn how one kind of enzyme, called a catalase, helps to protect our cells from damage. They will compare the reaction that occurs between different materials, including hydrogen peroxide, dish soap, and yeast.
