This experiment focuses on a concept that is often overlooked: acid-base reactions. Participants will be taught the basics of the pH scale and understand why they are important in our daily lives. Through the creation of a lemon volcano, they will further be able to recognize how substances with different levels of pH interact when put together.
Polymers exist everywhere from DNA to clothing! Formed out of small subunits known as monomers, they come in different shapes and have distinct yet interesting traits. In this workshop, participants will explore the properties of polymers by making putty and testing how different factors affect it.Â
